Based in Thunder Bay, Ontario (Rosslyn Village), Forest Forward is a mass timber manufacturer that uses 100% sustainable forest products, sourcing first from Indigenous-owned companies and forests in Northwestern Ontario.
Today, we specialize in manufacturing Glued Laminated Timber (Glulam) beams, columns, and slabs from SPF (spruce-pine-fir) to specifications for all construction projects including commercial, institutional, light industrial, residential, infrastructure (such as bridges with low environmental impact), and civic projects.
We are also a science-based company, leading the way to develop tomorrow’s Mass Timber 2.0 products.
The Forest Forward R&D Program actively researches innovative engineering approaches to develop new mass timber products for the construction industry. Owner Cory Hubbard already holds two mass timber patents.
Forest Forward works closely with clients to provide personalized service and customized mass timber products for their unique requests. We can engineer different stress grades and all Canadian and US appearance grades to meet your project needs.
We also work with your timelines so that your Forest Forward glulam products will be shipped from our Thunder Bay facility to your build location on a standard flatbed truck. Forest Forward can provide all material sources and transportation information for your project’s Life-cycle Assessment (LCA), LEED points, and carbon footprint/GHG calculations.
Designed with Architects and Builders in Mind
Forest Forward works with architects and builders to provide the right products for their projects. We follow manufacturing codes for both the Canadian (CSA O122-Glulams) and American (ANSI A190.1-Glulams) industry standards.
Forest Forward can also manufacture branded and white label mass timber products to spec for wholesalers and retailers in both Canada and the US.
